Modification of aluminum current collectors with laser-scribed graphene for enhancing the performance of lithium ion batteries

In this study, the graphene-modified Al foils are prepared to assemble lithium ion batteries (LIBs) through a three-step approach comprising: (1) deposition of polyamic acid (PAA) on substrate; (2) curing PAA form polyimide (PI)-coated foils; (3) converting PI into porous graphene by CO2 laser irradiation. With integration derived (PDG) in LIBs, inserted PDG layer can enhance adhesion and interface resistance between active electrode. The LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO)//Li4Ti5O12 (LTO) full cells with also fabricated evaluate effect modified cell performance. Compared pristine electrode, current collector improve rate performance reduce temperature rise during charge/discharge process leading better cycling stability.
